Which 7 inch Android Tablet is best?

First off, let me tell you that for the purposes of this review, I am comparing the newer version of the Augen Gentouch78 that is available now at reputable locations. If you find a supposed great deal on a Augen Tablet online, make sure that it is not the old version (has no microphone, 3.5 mm jack, G-sensor, and all around cheaper case materials)

The Samsung Galaxy Tab competes well with the Augen tablet, but loses the battle at four times the priceThat said, if you are looking for a 7 inch tablet with Android OS, the fairest fight out there is between the Augen and the Samsung.

For both tablets, the hardware is sleek and solid. Both companies spent a good deal of time on designing a product that looks and feels durable while throwing in a futuristic pizazz that make you feel cool to be holding one.

The screens on both are very responsive. While the Galaxy Tab has more 3rd party screen protectors made for it (the Galaxy is the huge victor in the third party accessories area due to its popularity).

Both are equivalent in expandability. The Augen tablet uses SD and the Samsung tablet uses microsd.

The Galaxy Tab does beat the Augen gentouch78 out in the OS department. Galaxy comes with Froyo (version 2.2) while the Augen has Eclair (version 2.1) I don’t find this much of a plus, though. I’ve heard of many people with an Augen tablet using pirated marketplace and Android OS. After you get yours, check back here for instructions on how to do this.

The augen Gentouch78 android tablet is the clear winner over the Samsung Galaxt TabIf you are looking for cell phone, the big victor here is the Galaxy. It can hook up to many major carriers including tmobile in the US. But lets face it, are you really going to make a phone call on your 7 inch phone? And where do you really go that doesn’t have wifi?

For the big decision factor, I had to go with the price. Without a service contract, the Galaxy Tab weighs in at almost $600. This might be competitive with the ipad, but we Android fans are looking for a little better deal. The Gentouch msrp’s for under $200 and I found a great deal at Amazon for under $150

For those of you that just skipped to the end, the Augen Gentouch78 tablet is the clear winner. The fact that you can buy four of them for less than one Galaxy Tab is awesome!
